Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club Delivers 150 Meals for Thanksgiving
On November 17, 2012, the Bailey’s Crossroads Rotary Club in partnership with the Jeb Stuart High School Interact Club packaged and delivered 150 Thanksgiving family meal boxes to needy families and to the Bailey’s Crossroads Community Shelter. Also cooperating in this project were the Safeway Grocery at Bailey’s Crossroads and the Bailey’s Elementary School.
This is the 21st year that the Rotary Club has sponsored and provided the funding for the project. Bailey’s Community Center compiled a list of needy families. Safeway provided charitable discounts on the food and free banana boxes for the delivery of the food. Bailey’s Elementary School students provided artwork that was included in the boxes.
The meals consisted of roast chicken, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, apple juice and apple pie. They were packaged by 84 students and alumni from Jeb Stuart High School and by 22 Bailey’s Crossroads Rotarians.
