The Annandale High School student newspaper The A-Blast was named as a finalist for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Scholastic Crown Award. According to the CSPA website, Scholastic Crown Awards are "the highest recognition given by the CSPA to a student print or online medium for overall excellence."

Finalists will either receive a Gold or Silver Crown Award at the CSPA convention in March 2011. The A-Blast is one of six Fairfax County schools to be recognized as a finalist.
