The A-Blast, Annandale High School's student newspaper, has won a Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) silver crown award According to the CSPA website, Scholastic Crown Awards are "the highest recognition given by the CSPA to a student print or online medium for overall excellence."

CSPA awarded a total of 54 Gold Crown awards and 103 Silver Crown awards at their convention this month with Chantilly High receiving the 2011 Gold Key award.
