Scholarships Available for High School Bassist and Violinists
The Reunion Music Society and the Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College are offering two scholarships to high school bass and viola players for the 2011-2012 academic year. The $250 Lafayette Jackson Memorial Scholarships, named after a Washington, D.C. area bassist and NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra member Mr. Lafayette Jackson, are open to Northern Virginia area high school students 16 years of age or older.
In addition to the cash scholarship, the winners also receive two free transferable college credits at NOVA and the opportunity to perform with the NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra at two of its concerts.
The deadline to apply is March 13, 2011.
