Election Day is Tuesday. President Barack Obama is running for reelection against GOP nominee Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts.

Annandale residents headed to the polls on Tuesday to vote for the next U.S. president, U.S. senator and representatives for the 8th and 11th congressional Districts in Virginia.
In addition, Annandale residents voted on several bond issues in Fairfax County and two Virginia constitutional amendments.
In 2008, Fairfax County gave then-candidate Sen. Barack Obama 60.11 percent of the votes, to Sen. John McCain's 38.93 percent. Fewer than one percent of votes went to third-party candidates.
Former Virginia governors George Allen (R) and Tim Kaine (D) faced off for the open U.S. Senate seat, and Kaine won.
In the 8th congressional District, incumbent Jim Moran (D) succeeded in his bid for reelection against challengers Patrick Murray (R), Jason Howell (I) and Janet Murphy (IG).
Incumbent Gerry Connolly (D) retained his seat in the 11th congressional District against challengers Chris Perkins (R), Mark Gibson (I), Chris DeCarlo (I), Joseph Galdo (G) and Peter Marchetti (IG).
Across the country, President Barack Obama won a second term, defeating former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Three other candidates will also be on the ballot: Independent candidate Virgil Goode, Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green candidate Jill Stein.
The following results come from the State Board of Elections are are updated as of 3 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7. This may not include absentee or provisional ballots.

Sherrell, I like what you've done here and look forward to seeing results tonight/tomorrow. I would like to suggest, however, that you add one more precinct. The Pine Ridge precinct does not sit entirely within Annandale, but does include the Annandale neighborhoods northwest of Woodburn Road.

Hi Diana, does Weyanoke include Annandale neighborhoods? If it does, I'll also add it to the table. Mason District includes Falls Church as well. This table was built including precincts that have Annandale zip codes and those that are in the extended gray areas that make up Annandale Patch coverage boundaries. Thanks!

We have added Weyanoke's precinct to the tables above, but that precinct has not reported results to the State Board of Elections yet (as of 3:20 a.m. Wednesday). We'll update when they have posted the results.

The headlines should be screaming "Millions of Americans duped again".
Axelrod and the Chicago gang ran one of the sleaziest campaigns ever defining Romney as something he was not. What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Sadly, we will get more of the same from a president who was in over his head from day one.
