Annandale Fireball Angels Win Herndon Youth Soccer All Star Cup
The win comes just a week after the Angels won the Suburban Friendship League championship
One of Annandale Boys & Girls Club's Under 11 Girls soccer teams, the Fireball Angels, followed up their recent league victory in the Suburban Friendship League (SFL) by winning the Herndon Youth Soccer All Star Cup for their age group this past weekend.
A week after winning the SFL, an team comprised entirely of players off the regular team competed in the All-Star Cup, the top tournament for recreational players in Northern Virginia for the Fall season. The tournament has different age groups playing all over Fairfax at various schools and parks. During the two-day tournament, the team played their best soccer of the year and surrendered only one goal in six games. With victories against Braddock Road Youth Soccer and Vienna Youth Soccer on the final Sunday of the tournament, they won the 'Black' division of the Under 11 Girls age group.
There were teams from nine other local soccer clubs competing in the division. The team was coached by Nate Carmody.
