Now that summer is over, story time at George Mason Regional Library is in full swing again. Tuesday's stories concentrated on phonological awareness for young children.

Anne Holton, wife of U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine, toured two buildings on the Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and learned about renovations planned for the college's main administration building.

The Virginia Interfaith Center hosted a screening of "Blank Street," a documentary about poverty in Virginia.  A discussion about Northern Virginia poverty followed the presentation, which was held at the Little River United Church of Christ.
