GMU President Foresees Expansion to Tysons

President Alan Merten said plan is serious.

George Mason University President Alan Merten told the Washington Post that the school is planning a physical presence in Tysons Corner.

ABC 7 reported in April that Fairfax planners were talking with both GMU and Northern Virginia Community College.  At that time, NOVA President Robert Templin, Jr., said his school was ready to expand to a commuter-friendly site.

“People are looking for more convenient alternatives of learning options that are located where they work or where they live and Tysons is going to be a place where both are expanding,” Templin said.

Merten said he expects a GMU Tysons campus will feature information technology and management courses.
