New Japanese Noodle Restaurant Opening in Annandale Next Month

Tanpopo Ramen House will specialize in Japanese ramen soup.

Good news for lovers of noodles or Japanese food: a new Japanese noodle restaurant will open in Annandale this summer.

Tanpopo Ramen House will be located at 4316 Markham St., next to . Tanpopo means “dandelion” in Japanese.

The restaurant, which is family-owned and operated, will specialize in ramen soup and also include a sushi bar.

“I think [Japanese ramen] is missing from the area. The market for it is becoming popular in D.C. It’s a good concept,” said Owner and Manager Dave Kim.

Due to the size of the restaurant's property, Kim estimates the restaurant will seat less than 50 people. In addition to dine-in options, the restaurant will also accept phone orders for pick up.

Kim said the food prices will be affordable and vary from as low as $4 to $35 and vary based on the kind of dish ordered.

Tanpopo Ramen House is scheduled to open in early August.
