More than 100 volunteers helped kick off the inaugural Hilton Worldwide Global Week of Service at the ACCA Child Development Center on Monday.

According to a press release, Hilton Worldwide’s Global Week of Service is a “celebration of the company’s year-round commitment to volunteer service… Approximately 300,000 Hilton Worldwide Team Members across 90 countries and territories will participate in hundreds of hands-on volunteer projects and events across 3,900 communities.”

The event, sponsored by Hilton Worldwide, included volunteers from Hilton Worldwide Corporate Headquarters which is based in McLean and Volunteer Fairfax. The volunteers served families and children at the ACCA Child Development Center.

The volunteers will work on art and beautification projects during the week. Events for Global Week of Service events in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area will continue through Friday, Nov. 16.
