Public Hearing Scheduled for Willow Run Planned Housing Development
The hearing will be held next week in front of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
Residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed application to build more than 20 single-family homes near the intersection of Willow Run Drive and Little River Turnpike area during a public hearing in front of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, July 31.
According to the draft agenda item from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, the hearing will be at 3 p.m.
Mason District residents and civic associations have been vocal in their opposition of the plan, citing stormwater issues and concern over whether the homes will fit with the current neighborhood as two of their fears.
Back in June, the Fairfax County Planning Commission approved the rezoning request for RZ/FDP 2011-MA-029 Neighborhoods, VI, LLC.
If the Board of Supervisors votes in favor of the plan, Stanley Martin will be allowed to move forward with their proposal to develop 29 single-family style homes on 8.79 acres of property currently occupied by Campbell & Ferrara Nursery off of Little River Turnpike.
The hearing will be held in the Board Auditorium of the Fairfax County Government Center, located at 12000 Government Ctr. in Fairfax.
