Video: Annandale Fuddruckers Demolished on Thursday
After more than 20 years in business, the family restaurant and burger joint left Annandale in April 2012.
The Annandale Fuddruckers, which closed in April, was demolished Thursday to make way for the incoming Walgreens.
See photos of the demolition here.
The demoliton comes months after the proposed constructon start dates were announced in the fall. A trailer was posted on the property in December and the property was fenced off along Backlick Road and Columbia Pike.

Did I go to Fuddruckers with my family? YES, many times over the years. Will I go to Walgreens? Probably NOT. and definitely NOT with my family. The closing of Fuddruckers doesnt make any business or community sense to me.

Hello:
You can blame Ms. Gross for that. We needed an All American family burger restaurant that we could take family friends and visiting friends. Now what are we to do. I'm not going to Walgreens. It's all about the money and she got money and a lot of it for this deal. I won't vote for you in the next election, you ruined a family tradition.

Why on earth would I be excited about a Walgreens opening up where the awesome Fuddruckers was when there is a CVS practically across the street? It's just STUPID!

Walgreens? Why? No one could replace Fuddreckers. Before that it was a Pancake house---in the 1970's when we moved here. Now we are left with what---Korean places to eat and good old Silveradoos. Good thing we love that place. This is the poorest business decision I have heard of. CVS will continue to get my custom. Lynne

I never went to Fuddruckers but certainly, a family restaurant would be preferable to another drug store in Annandale. CVS will be practically across the street from the new Walgreens. The nearby Giant has a pharmacy as well. We don't need anymore drug stores! Annandale needs some good, quality family type American restaurants--not more Korean ones either. I don't understand why our area cannot draw some good places to eat. We have to go to Arlington or Manassas to get a good meal.

I find it hard to believe that there is no restaurant company out there willing to invest in Annandale to give Silverado's some competition. There are plenty of families in Annandale that would support both.

I sent a note to Cracker Barrel asking them to consider Annandale ... I love that restaurant with the little oldtime novelty store .. great food ~ told them there were a few vacant spaces, like the old Bloom store .. not far from the 495 exit. Its very disappointing to see another drug store (overkill) & all the korean grocery stores & karaoke places taking over ... I never voted for PGross, she's horrible for Annandale

I worked here during high school and then my freshmen year of college... lots of fun times, lots of great regulars, lots of hard working people that had been there for decades. truly sad to see them gone... while i love the diversity of annandale, it cant truly be diversity if there aren't a variety of options. gross is definitely not getting my vote. viva la burger!
