The Annandale Florist, located at 7224 Columbia Pike, closed its doors on Dec. 31 after owner Gary Sherfey announced he was retiring.

The popular flower shop served residents in Annandale and beyond for more than 50 years.

What would you like to see at this property? What kind of business do you think would best serve the community's needs and blend in with the current shops along Backlick Road and the corner near Columbia Pike?

I would like to see a really good family restaurant. May second choice would be a gift/card shop.

No more restaurants!
No more pharmacies!
The old beautiful Annandale has turned into a humongous kitchen!
The old beautiful Annandale has lost it's charm!
It's time we get something that feeds other than the tummy.
Yes, a gift / card shop us highly needed.
A store with an art and craft twist such as a pottery or painting shop where adults and kids can indulge. A bookstore such as a mini Barnes & Noble or even a nursery since we're loosing Campbell & Ferrara. The florist shop perfectly lends itself to such venues.
But, for God's sake, unless you bring in Ruth Chris's or a high end restaurant...., NO MORE RESTAURANTS!

A cute diner, wedding store, boutique, something with a home town feel. Even a sports store that sells work out clothes and letter man jackets for the local high schools and speciality sports equipment (yoga mats, sports gloves, etc....).

A hobby shop would be a nice little addition. Although a specialty beer/wine shop might not be so bad either

Unless there's space in the bak, there's NO parking?

Unless there is space in the back, there is NO parking. I would also like to see "charm" return to Annandale, albeit there hasn't been much since I've moved here 20 years ago. I'd like to see a interior decorating place and/or specialty gift shop in that space.
