During a recent Staff Appreciation Fund celebration at Greenspring, many of the community’s employees received a special gift for the holidays.  This year, $284,825.01 was raised for the fund, which is comprised of donations made by residents for the staff at Greenspring who enrich the community’s culture each and every day.

The Resident Life Committee, made up of eleven Greenspring residents, organizes the annual campaign.  According to the Committee, "the Staff Appreciation Fund is a tangible way for residents and their families to express gratitude to those employees who have touched their lives during the past year."

This year, 903 hourly employees received checks from the residents at the Staff Appreciation Fund celebration.  These staff include members of the security team, the grounds crew, the housekeeping staff, the transportation team, the culinary, banquet, and kitchen staff, and the maintenance staff, as well as continuing care neighborhood employees at every level of care from nurses to the dining services, maintenance, programming, housekeeping and laundry teams.

“Every year I am truly touched by the exchange of gratitude among the residents and the staff at Greenspring,” said Karla Hibbs, Director of Resident Life. “The Staff Appreciation Fund provides such a wonderful way to say ‘thank you’ during the holiday season.”
