Labor Day Closures, Peace Lutheran Church Rings Bells

It’s Thursday, Aug. 29. Here are five things you need to know.

1. Fill the Boot: Firefighters across Fairfax County will begin collecting donations today and through the Labor Day weekend to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

2. In case you missed it, Peace Lutheran Church in nearby Lincolnia commemorated the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech with a bell ringing ceremony.
