Snake and Turtle Feeding, Learn Bollywood Dances, Bike Rentals in Springfield

Five things you need to know in Annandale today.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will meet today and voteon several important projects, including a study of the Fairfax County and Franconia-Springfield Parkways. 

Volunteers are still needed for the upcoming Annandale Back-to-School Resource Fair next month. The fair will provide school supplies and clothing to low-income families.

Children of all ages will have the chance to learn classical Bollywood dances at George Mason Regional Library today at 10:30 a.m. during the "Beauty of Indian Dance" event.

Snakes and Turtles, oh my! Animal caretakers at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center will feed at least one snake, two turtles and a toad during an hour-long program from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event cost is $5 per person.

Looking for an activity you can do outdoors today? Consider renting a bike and exploring the trails at Lake Accotink Park, located at 7300 Accotink Park Road in Springfield. Bikes can be rented from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays. Rentals are $10 an hour, or $5 an hour if three or more bikes are rented.
