Jessica is a mother to Nico Wild, and currently pregnant with her second. After giving birth, Jessica realized her path was to blend her love of yoga with her love of birth. She became double certified to teach Prenatal and Holistic Yoga, while also becoming a Birth Doula. Compelled by further conversations in her prenatal yoga classes, Jessica, with the help of her friend, created the Essential Empowering Education course. She feels strongly that a positive, well-supported, well-educated pregnancy and birth experience is a women's public health issue. Jessica is thrilled to be working on the grassroots level to help foster happier Mommas and families.
Chandra is a mother to two sons, Franklin and Stellan. Chandra prepared for their births, by participating in peer-led group care, which provided her with evidence-based information on pregnancy and childbirth as well as a community of expectant mothers. It was this experience, along with a belief that all women should be supported and empowered in birth that led her to pursue becoming a Birth Doula and teaming up with Jessica to create the Essential Empowering Education course. Chandra holds a master's degree in Diplomacy and International Relations with a focus on women's issues.
