Congressman Connolly Speaks on Immigration Reform at OFA rally

Monday, July 1 in Annandale, VA dozens of people came to thank Representative Gerry Connolly for supporting Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR).  The supporters outside his district office were joined by reporters and a camera crew.  Rep. Connolly came out to listen and talk to us since there were too many supporters there to fit in his office.  After listening to Miriam Adebere the Congressman got the loudest cheers of the day when he said, "I strongly support Comprehensive Immigration Reform", and added that he would "fight to get it through the House."  After noting that this issue is going to be a tough one for Speaker John Boehner, Connolly called on him to "join the Speakers who have not hesitated to take a risk for the sake of the country.  Let us vote on it."  Connolly, when questioned by a heckler, insisted that the Senate version would work, that it amply fortified our borders and it included a pathway to citizenship.
