Maybe A Change in The Fairfax County School Schedule:

Since The schools have been closed, or opened two hours late on a consistent basis this school year, because of weather and The School Calendar, maybe The County should think about opening the school year earlier in the year, and closing it around the winter months.  After Easter would be a good time to start The School Year, and end it around the end of October.  The Children don't attend class on a consistent time frame anyway in the months of November thru April due to holidays, weather, and others school time closings.   If The Board would count the days of no classes between the 2013 Calendar Year, starting  Nov. 1st. 2013, thru Easter of 2014, including weekends, and snow days, they would see that the children are not getting a consistent process of learning. I'm sure The Schools will be closed Monday, March 3rd., 2014, because of bad weather.  Count the days and see for yourself.
