Annandale Kicks Off Holiday Season with Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Residents sung carols and mingled with local officials during the annual event.

Despite the rain, Annandale residents and local representatives joined the Annandale Chamber of Commerce for the 13th Annual Annandale Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday.

See photos from the event here.

Every year, the chamber hosts the ceremony in Tollhouse Park at the corner of Annandale Road and Little River Turnpike across the street from the Annandale Christmas tree, but the festivities were moved inside Burke & Herbert Bank due to the weather.

Residents enjoyed entertainment by the Poe Middle School Carolers, who performed popular songs such as "Frosty the Snowman," "O Holy Night," and the "12 Days of Christmas," and cookies and coffee provided by Magill's and Beanetics.

Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross and representatives from Congressman Gerry Connolly's (D-11th) office also attended the event.
