Where/When: Fort Ward, 4301 West Braddock Road, Alexandria/Saturday, June 25th 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go: Watch as Civil War re-enactors show off their skills through firing demonstrations, a riffle display and bugle calls.

3. A Jane Austen Tea Party

Where/When: , 4603 Green Spring Road, Alexandria/Sunday, June 26th at 1 p.m.

Why Go: Step into the page’s of one of Jane Austen’s books where tea was more than a drink, it was a sign of social standing and marked fine hospitality.

4. Civil War Sesquicentennial Picnic

Where/When: E. Broad and North Fairfax Streets, Falls Church/Sunday June 26th 4- 7 p.m.

Why Go: Bring a blanket and picnic basket and enjoy complimentary drinks while listening to Civil War Era music. The whole family will enjoy playing croquet and horseshoes while watching costumed re-enactors..

5. Women in Jazz Concert

Where/When: Ernst Community Center, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale/Sunday, June 26th 4 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a night of swing and jazz performed by Washington, D.C.’s first all-woman professional jazz orchestra.
