Grab & Go Kids Planner: Winnie the Pooh Tea Parties and Campires

Check out these kid friendly activities to try out with your kids this weekend

Don’t let last weekend’s snow confuse you. Annandale Patch has found activities that will get the whole family ready springtime.

1. Kids Building Workshop

Where/When: Annandale Home Depot, 6555 Little River Turnpike, Alexandria/Saturday, Apr. 2, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Why Go: Your children will receive a kid-sized orange apron and construct their own wooden planter. All children receive an achievement pin and diploma at the end of the class. This event is being held at ALL The Home Depot locations.

2. Ryan Buckle and Friends: Science You Can Sing To

Where/When: Pohick Regional Library, 6450 Sydenstricker Road, Burke/Saturday, Apr. 2, 10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m.

Why Go: Ryan Buckle and Zelda the Zookeeper will lead your kids in great songs making science fun.

Pricing: Free

 

3. Family Workshop: One Potato, Two Potato

Where/When: , 4603 Green Spring Road, Alexandria/Saturday, Apr. 2, 2 p.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go: Children five and older with a registered adult will make their own artwork from potato stamps, learn how to plant potatoes in the garden and get to take tubers home. Registration is required.

4. Natures’ April Foolers Campfire

Where/When: , 7701 Royce Street, Annandale/Saturday, Apr. 2, 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

Why Go: A naturalist will teach your children how animals of the woods use trickery. Kids will toast marshmallows, meet live animals and listen to stories around the campfire. Children ages four and older must be accompanied by a registered adult.

5. Pooh Bear’s Friends’ Tea Party

Where/When: , 7701 Royce Street, Annandale/Sunday, Apr. 3, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Children will enjoy honey, tea and cookies with their favorite stuffed animals. Your kids will learn about Virginia brown bears, heffalumps, and wuzzles. This event is for children four and older and must be accompanied by a registered adult.
