Halloween Events in the Annandale Area

Have a very spooky Halloween at one of these local events

Looking for something to do on Halloween in the Annandale area? There’s plenty going on starting on Friday through Sunday. Check out our list below and add any events we missed in the comments!

If you’re still in need of pumpkins to carve, Springfield Christian Church has a pumpkin patch set up daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the littlest pumpkins on sale for as low as 2 for 50 cents. The largest pumpkins will cost you up to $30.

Friday, Oct. 28

’s Haunted House kicks off tonight, Friday, Oct. 28 from 7-10 p.m. If you’re not in the mood to have your pants scared off you on Friday, FCHS promises a “less scary” version on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 1-4 p.m.

Scary stories, walks in the forest, and s’mores are on the agenda for the Halloween event at Hidden Pond Nature Center in Springfield from 7-9 p.m. There is an $8 charge for this event.

Also in Springfield, there will be a Psycho Haunted House from Friday, Oct. 28 to Monday, Oct. 31 at 7213 Lamar Drive. The line starts at 7 p.m., but the house opens at 7:30 p.m. The event is free, but tips are welcome.

 

Saturday, Oct. 29

The is having a Halloween BINGO Party on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. There will be prizes for best Halloween costume and drawings for two $2,000 and four $250 prizes.

Annandale’s is throwing a Halloween party and you’re invited! Music will be provided by cover band 3rd Rail and there will be a costume contest beginning at midnight. First place in the contest gets $100 and second place wins $50. There is a $5 cover charge for the night and the band plays at 9:30 p.m.

If you want to get a little fancy, Public House No. 7 in Falls Church is having a Tarts and Vicars and Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 9 p.m. In addition to a DJ, there will be food specials and a costume contest.

Enjoy a full day of Halloween events at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield on Saturday, starting with the “Howloween” Dog Costume Contest and Boneyard Hunt from 2-4 p.m. In the evening, there will be rounds of spooky golf for $7 per person at the Halloween Goblin Golf and Bonfire from 6-9 p.m. You have to register and pay in advance for this event.

Kilroy’s in Springfield is also having a Halloween party on Saturday from 8-11:30 p.m.  There will be a costume contest, a live band and giveaways. If you buy a goodie bag for $10, all proceeds will go to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

The City of Falls Church's annual Halloween Carnival will take place on Saturday at the . The times for the activities vary by age [see PDF at right], but there will be a Creepy Creature Show for all ages from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 

Sunday, Oct. 30

Hop on the Ghost Train at Burke Lake Park from Saturday, Oct. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be a Witch Watch at George Mason University in Fairfax on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The South Run RECenter will host a Halloween Costume Run on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.

 

Monday, Oct. 31

Celebrate the holiday on Monday with Springfield Christian Church's Trunk or Treat. Pack your trunk with candy and hand out treats to kids from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 5407 Backlick Rd, Springfield.

As we mentioned above, don't forget about the Psycho Haunted House from Friday, Oct. 28 to Monday, Oct. 31 at 7213 Lamar Drive.
