Hidden Oaks Nature Center Manager Wins Award

Suzanne Holland, the assistant manager at Hidden Oaks, received the 2013 Outstanding Interpretive Manager Award from the National Association for Interpretation.

A manager at Annandale's Hidden Oaks Nature Center has won an award National Association for Interpretation (NAI).

Suzanne Holland, the assistant manager at Hidden Oaks, was given the 2013 Outstanding Interpretive Manager Award by the NAI, according to a news release from the Fairfax County Park Authority. The release states the award "recognizes "mastery of interpretive technique, site and staff management and a respected ability to pass these skills on to others."

Holland has served with Hidden Oaks as an interpretive manager for eight years and an interpretive supervisor for over two decades, the release further states.

It is the second year in a row an employee from the NAI Region 2, which includes Virginia, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Mike McCaffrey, a manager at Hidden Pond Nature Center in Springfield, won the award in 2012.
