Local Places Dish Up Last Minute Thanksgiving Meals

Changed your mind about cooking this year? You've got options

It's Wednesday. Thanksgiving is tomorrow. Maybe you planned to have this elaborate feast, but have decided against it now. Or maybe you have a cousin who really likes a certain dish that your mother-in-law is allergic to, and you want to please both of them but don't have time to prepare a dish.

Don't panic. There are a handful of local places nearby that can rescue you from your dilemma.

If you don't want to spend a huge amount of money, your best bet may be to check the local supermarkets. , , , Shoppers, and all have options for Thanksgiving meals either a la carte or complete meals only (like Bloom) that vary in price. Some require you to order 24 hours in advance for pickup or they may have pre-cooked items you can just pick up and reheat at home at your leisure.

Foxfire Grill in the Pinecrest Shopping Center in Alexandria just outside of Annandale usually has a holiday meal special going on and this year is no different. The restaurant is open beginning at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. For $23 per person, you can get a completely meal with your choice of turkey, ham or pork loin with a variety of sides. You can also choose between four different options for dessert: bread pudding, or pumpkin, apple, or pecan pie.

Boston Market is another option. You can place your order online for heat and serve or a la carte items such as dinner rolls or creamed spinach and pick them up at a nearby location. You could even stay in your car if there's drive through. It's a quick and simple alternative to cooking. Boston Market is also serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday from $10.99 and up.
