Three Mason District Station officers received recognition for their work by the club.

The Bailey's Crossroads Rotary Club chose to recognize three Mason District Station officers for their important work and accomplishments as officers of the Mason District Police Station.

Fairfax County Master Police Officer (MPO) Joseph E. Millirons received the Mason District Station Police Officer of the Year award:

MPO Millirons has pursued innovative ways to combat crime and along the way motivate his fellow officers to spearhead new initiatives. Officer Millirons was one of the founders of the Mason Inspection Unit (MIU). The MIU proactively inspects retail establishments to identify illicit and unsafe business practices that have a substantial impact on crime and the ovverall quality of life in the community. During 2011-2012, the MIU inspected 146 local businesses, resulting in the charging and prosecution of 129 criminal violations. These efforts led to the closure of several unsafe and unlawful businesses.

Also MPO Millirons has trained over 20 new poice recruits from the Police Academy during his tenure at the Mason Station. This has helped to ensure that the recruits are ready for the daily tasks and the overall demanding permorance that is required to become a Fairfax County Police Officer.
