Ten Great New Year's Eve Events in the Annandale Area

Looking to stay in Annandale this New Year's Eve? Here are some great events close to home

In less than a week, 2010 will be over. If you haven't decided what your plans for New Year's Eve are yet and don't want to travel far, don't worry. This year, there are plenty of things to do if you want to stay in the area.

Here are ten great New Year's Eve events you might want to check out: 

1)  New Year Gala Show at The Camino Boutique Lounge

If you feel like bringing in the New Year early, celebrate in style at the New Year Gala Show at the Camino Boutique Lounge on 6669 Little River Turnpike in Annandale. Hosted by the DC Hippodrome Variety Show Entertainment, the event features a Polynesian Luau, island dancing, and a costume contest. Doors open at 8 p.m. You must be 21 or over to attend.

 2) All You Can Bowl at Annandale AMF

On New Year's Eve,  is hosting an all-you-can-bowl special. For $35, you can bowl an unlimited number of games from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

3) Mike Cotter and "The All-Star Band" at Sunset Grille

4) Redskins Charity Event at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner

Members of the Washington Redskins will be hosting a New Year's Eve masquerade ball at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner. There will be an open bar, food and live entertainment. During the event, two Super Bowl tickets will be given away. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Hilarion Foundation, an organization that raises financial resources to benefit children all over the world. Click here for ticket information. 

5) 1980's Style New Year's Eve Celebration at Arlington Cinema 'N' Drafthouse

Located on 2903 Columbia Pike in Arlington, the Arlington Cinema 'N' Drafthouse is hosting an 80s-style party from 7:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Come and watch New York's Time Square celebration and enjoy 80s music. Cover is $14. Must be 21 to enter. Click here to buy tickets.

6) Watch Night in Downtown Falls Church 

If you're looking for something for people of all ages, check out Falls Church's Watch Night on 100 East Broad Street. The event features everything from facepainting, a moonbounce, storytelling, magicians, and other fun festivities! The event starts at 7 p.m. and goes until midnight. Free parking is available at the Presbyterian Church located at the 200 block of East Broad Street. 

7) Ultrazone's All-Night New Year's Eve Party

Ultrazone is hosting an all-night party in Falls Church at 3447 Carlin Springs Road on New Year's Eve, starting at 7 p.m. The event will including watching the ball drop, a free food buffet until midnight and unlimited laser tag! Tickets are $29.99 and going quickly.

8) The Seldom Scene at The Birchmere

On New Year's Eve, The Birchmere in Alexandria is will be featuring The Seldom Scene, one of the foremost bluegrass groups in America. The event will also feature performances from The Eastman String Band and Nora Jane Struthers. Doors open at 8 p.m. Click here to buy tickets. 

9) Fairfax Four Mile Run in Old Town Fairfax

For those bold enough to brave the cold on New Year's Eve, Pacers Fairfax is hosting their annual four mile run through Old Town Fairfax in Old Town Plaza Village located at10427 North Street. The race starts at 6:30 p.m. and the awards ceremony begins at 8 p.m. For more information on how to register, click here.  

10) New Year's Eve at the Carlyle Club

The Carlyle Club in Alexandria presents a night of old-school R&B featuring Joe Coleman, Ms. Teri S., Joe Blunt, Glenn Leonard and many more! If you're looking for a night of great music, great food, and champagne, this is something you might want to check out.
