Video: Annandale American Legion Post 1976 Memorial Day Ceremony

Fairfax County Chairman Sharon Bulova offered remarks

The American Legion Bicentennial Post 1976 held their Memorial Day ceremony today at the Post home at 4206 Daniels Ave. Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova served as guest speaker for the event. In addition to Post members, their families and guests, Mason District Supervisor Penelope Gross also attended.

During her remarks, Bulova called Memorial Day an "intensely personal day for so many people". She then told the audience how her father, a Marine who fought in World War II, Okinawa and Iwo Jima, named her after a town in Saipon called Charon-Kanoa.
