Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Night Coming to Annandale
Event will take place at Annandale's Ossian Park.
The Fairfax County Park Authority recently announce the third annual Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Night is set to take place Aug. 2 at Ossian Hall Park, 7900 Heritage Dr., in Annandale. This 90-minute performance celebrating Vietnamese culture starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
Vietnamese Cultural Night is part of the “Explore the World in Your Community” series, an international music and dance series aimed at promoting awareness and appreciation of Fairfax County’s cultural diversity. The show will feature fresh talents as well as all-time favorites, all geared to highlight Vietnam’s peace-loving attitude, multicultural diversity, and its people’s independent spirits through folk instrumental and choral music, as well as traditional and contemporary dances.
Renowned flutist Nguyễn Đình Nghiã’s ensemble will perform with many folk instruments, playing a cross-section of Vietnam’s diverse musical traditions. More contemporary dance interpretations and songs will be performed by youth groups, such as George Mason University students, Vietnamese Youth Education Association, and local high school music artists.
