  • The highest ollie contest will be won by the skater who attains the greatest vertical distance by tapping the tail of the board as he/she jumps into the air, dragging the board upward with their front foot.
  • In S.K.A.T.E., skaters perform a technical trick which another skater then attempts to duplicate. If the second skater fails to land the trick, he/she obtains a letter. Once SKATE has been spelled out, that skater loses. (This is identical to playing H.O.R.S.E. on a basketball court.)
  • The half-pipe jam will test skaters’ proficiency on transition as they work the coping, catch air, and show mastery of the ramp.
  • The one-minute run winner will be awarded to the skater who presents the most impressive run in 60 seconds. Judges will look for technical skills, use of features such as ramps, rails, and ledges, and general excellence in riding ability.

There is a $20 entry fee per person for this event. Only skaters who win first or second place will receive a prize.

The was held at the skate park last month.
