Update: Water Restored to Homes on Murray Lane

A water main break, the third one this month, occurred late Sunday night in the Columbia Pines neighborhood. Repairs were completed Monday morning.

Another Annandale neighborhood was temporarily without water Sunday night thanks to a water main break.

The break occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday on Murray Lane in the Columbia Pines neighborhood, according to Annandale resident Bob Kovacs.

Kovacs, who shot the above video shortly after the break occurred for his Annandale Arts YouTube channel, said a Fairfax Water employee on scene briefly shut the water off and turned it back on. A repair truck was reportedly headed to the scene within an hour.

Jeanne Bailey, spokesperson for Fairfax Water, said water was restored to the impacted residents at 2:35 a.m. and all repairs were finished around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

This is the third water main break to happen in Annandale this month. There was a water main break at Northern Virginia Community College's Annandale campus on Dec. 5, and just last week, a water main break caused a large sinkhole temporarily shut down Hummer Road.
