Annandale is blanketed in snow Thursday morning after a snowstorm that started Wednesday night that brought about 7.5 inches of snow to Annandale, according to snow totals posted Thursday morning by the National Weather Service. (No official total for Annandale but the closest we could find was 7.7 inches in Ravensworth.)

The NWS forecast for late afternoon Thursday in Annandale is for snow and sleet. High near 33. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday night forecast is for snow, mainly before 1am. Low around 26. Northwest wind 11 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 5 a.m. Friday for Annandale.

Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 1 a.m. Friday for Annandale.
