The NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert "Spring Awakening"

The Northern Virginia College Orchestra performs on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 8 p.m. at the Ernst Community and Cultural Center Theater, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA.  The 75-member orchestra is directed by Christopher E. Johnston, a NOVA adjunct faculty member and also teacher of composing at the Fairfax High School Academy of the Arts and Communications.

The program includes The Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn, Bizet's Symphony No. 1, The Waltz from Sleeping Beauty Ballet by Tchaikovsky, three Scott Joplin rag times, and  selections from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1.  Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors and students, and children 12 and under are free.  Please call the orchestra president Joseph Pincus at 703-569-0973 or send email to joseph@pincus.org for information and reservations.  

 

We especially encourage families to attend with children because we wish to inspire future musicians and concert-goers.
