Preview: Food and Vendors at the Annandale Fall Festival 2012

Here's a look at what you and your family can expect at this year's festival and parade.

Just like last year, there will be three main areas of the festival: the Community Market, the Food and Entertainment Zone and the Kids Zone.

Food and Entertainment Zone

Every year, the Annandale Fall Festival hosts what's called the “Taste of Annandale," and features several food vendors who dish out a variety of cultural fare.

The new Rice and Spice Thai restaurant, located at 6244-K Little River Turnpike just outside of Annandale, will be a vendor this year along with Annandale residents Manny and Maria Alfaro, who will serve Peruvian food like chorizo sandwiches, Peruvian tamales and more.

Community Market Zone

The Community Market zone is where you can find all of the local merchants to do all of your holiday shopping or gift buying. Vendors will sell everything from jewelry to metalworks, cosmetics to umbrellas, clothing to kitchenware. Some of the vendors participating in this year’s festival include Native American Handcrafts, Yannie’s Arts, Bayou Classic, the Annandale High School (AHS) boosters and more.  There will also be pet vendors on site such as Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Barkley Square.

Also located in the Community Market is the Secret Garden. The Secret Garden will feature three acts this year: the S.O.L. Train from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Osmar the Magician from Noon to 2 p.m., and the Bob Brown Puppet show from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
