Your Guide to the 2013 Annandale Fall Festival

The biggest celebration of all things Annandale kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 26. Here's your guide to the festival and everything you need to know to participate and have a great time with family, friends and neighbors.

 

WHAT: The 2013 Annandale Fall Festival and Parade, sponsored by the Annandale Chamber of Commerce

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Parking lot of Safeway, located at 7414 Little River Turnpike in Annandale

PARKING: All parking for the festival will be at the parking lot of the AMF Annandale Lanes bowling alley, located at 4245 Markham St. and the Annandale Swim & Tennis Club  located at 7530 Little River Turnpike.

Annandale Parade: The Annandale Parade has been a tradition in the community since 1950. The parade begins at 10 a.m. on Columbia Pike and Gallows Road near the Annandale United Methodist Church.

  • Road Closures: Due to the parade, several Annandale streets will be closed from 9:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. Residents should avoid Columbia Pike starting at Gallows Road, Backlick Road beginning near Little River Turnpike, Maple Place and Annandale Road, Markham Street, shortcuts down Evergreen Lane, Tom Davis Drive and John Marr Drive.

Annandale Fall Festival Entertainment, Food and More

There will be several performances from local artists and groups at this year's Annandale Fall Festival. The genres range from rock to country, jazz to pop and there will be performances by cultural dance groups as well.

Residents who are looking to get their Christmas shopping done early will want to check out the Community Market zone. Local vendors will sell everything from handmade crafts to silk scarves, shawls, leather handbags, hair accessories, jewlry, bath salts and more.

In addition to festival staples such as hot dogs, chicken tenders, hamburgers and more, food vendors will also sell chicken teriyaki, egg rolls, chicken satay, jerk chicken, gyros, salads, bratwursts, pizza from Little Caesars in the Food and Entertainment zone. Menchie's frozen yogurt, Jaguar Joe Coffee and the Scottish Baker will provide baked goods such as scones, shortbread, hot bread pudding and more.

There will be rides and games for children of all ages in the Kids Zone, including bungee jumping, an obstacle course and more. As far as entertainment, there's also Osmar’s Magic Shows, puppet shows, storytelling in the Secret Garden.
