Annandale Party Company Store Plans to Relocate in August

The store will move a few doors down in the same shopping center into the space formerly occupied by the Super Pets aquarium and pet store.

It will happen a year later than planned, but the The Party Company store, located 4421 John Marr Dr., says it will finally move into a new, larger space this summer.

According to Store Manager Nicki Hicks, Party Co. is hoping to re-open in their new space in August, though their new storefront is still located in the same shopping center they've called home for more than 10 years.

Patch reported last year the store was planning to move a few doors down to the former Super Pets aquarium and pet store, which left its Annandale location  in 2011 after the lease was not renewed.

The store planned to move by October around Halloween. However, permit and contractor issues kept delaying the relocation process.

"We will be open come hell or high water this year we will open by Halloween," said Hicks.

The new location is already beginning to take shape as shelves and walls fill up with merchandise. Hicks said the space underwent a complete remodel in order to accommodate Party Co's. design plans.

Hicks said the store is about 60 percent moved into the new space, but they're missing some pretty essential equipment like cash registers.

When the reopens, Hicks said residents can expect to see a lot more new merchandise not previously offered at their original location.

"Mostly, residents can expect there to be a lot more to chose from," said Hicks.

There will be a custom balloon area where customers can buy balloon towers and arches.

In addition to helium tanks, customers will also be able to rent tables, chairs, popcorn and cotton candy machines and other popular party items. Hicks said the store is also hoping to have its Inscribe personalization desk ready by their open date. Customers would be able to personalize items such as mugs, stationery, and eventually banners right there in-store, a convenience Hicks said will cut down on the delivery time for orders.
