Mureșan, who played for the Washington Bullets (later renamed the Washington Wizards) from 1993-1995, met with fans and signed autographs while visitors enjoyed food and drinks and browsed some of the new comics and sports memorabilia in the store.
The store's former owners, Ron and Vinnie Savino, also stopped by the check out the store and say hello to old friends. The Savino brothers opened Ron's Collector's World in Annandale 21 years ago. They sold the store to new owners Damon Hudson and Stephen Weber in early May.
Hudson said the store has brought in a lot of different new merchandise over the last few weeks, some of which is currently on display in the store in newly installed display storage bins.
The goal, Hudson said, is to try and not allow their inventory to get stale by continually bringing in a lot new merchandise that will please both regular customers and new ones.
Hudson added that the reception from longtime customers and new customers in the last month has been encouraging. That same positive reception extends to the welcome they've received from their neighbors in the Annandale Shopping Center.
"We've met a few more people here in the shopping center and everyone has been great, giving us a warm welcome," said Weber.
The grand re-opening celebration also featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Gross and raffles for autographed merchandise such as a baseball autographed by Brooks Robinson and more.
