TD Bank to Open First Environmentally-Friendly Virginia Location in Annandale

Annandale residents who regularly drive through the central business district are familiar with the now mostly complete at the intersection of Baclick Road and Little River Turnpike.

According to a press release, the TD Bank Annandale location at 7209 Little River Turnpike will be one of four environmentally-friendly retail locations the bank is opening this month.

To celebrate the opening, TD Bank will hold a free community event on Saturday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pets are also invited to tag along.

 The celebration in Annandale will include:

• Free food, assorted snacks and refreshments
• Free ice cream
• Games and entertainment
• Appearances by D.C. United team members from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Exciting games and prizes, including a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree
• Ribbon cutting ceremonies
  

The press release further states:

"The new banks were built based on TD Bank’s green prototype store design, which includes a solar drive-thru canopy at stand-alone stores that will produce almost 20 percent of the buildings’ annual energy needs. The location in Annandale will also have solar drive-thru canopies.

The new TD Bank in Annandale will also target LEED Gold certification. Their certifications will be based on their overall environmental performance in five areas: the use of sustainable sites, low water usage, energy efficiency, the use of recycled materials and resources, and indoor environmental air quality."

The Annandale location hours will be open:

• Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TD Bank has 39 locations throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and the new stores will be the bank’s 31st to 34th green locations across its Maine to Florida footprint.
