More about Buenos Grill on Patch:
What would you like to see at this property? Do you think another restaurant could do well in that location? What kind of business do you think would best serve the community's needs?

The Mosaic District is a good example of building commerce out of a mixture of mid-scale to high-end shops and restaurants. Annandale certainly has its perks, but it would be nice to see a better mixture of businesses (read: not all Asian, which--while interesting and nice--is boring, and let's get something a bit more upscale than what we already have). The spot occupied by Buenos Grill is a good spot located on a corner and fronting a high-traffic road, and it is a great opportunity for a high-traffic establishment such as a restaurant or cafe. I'd love to have a well-planned African or South American restaurant, a European-style bakery, a wine bar/shop, a seafood market/restaurant, or a good southern/BBQ joint. Hopefully it won't be turned into yet another crappy fast food place, gas station, or drug store.

The main reason Buenos Grill closed was insufficient business. Would any other restaurant be able to make a profit in this location? Even Silverado doesn't think they have enough business to expand. I thought the quality and variety of Buenos' food and the refurbished property would do well, but they were open less than 1 year.

I live in Sleepy Hollow Woods which is 1 block away from Buenos Grill and everyone in the neighborhood was expecting the restaurant to be a full service sit down and have a margarita with Mexican food place. However in reality it became a Chipotle knock off that was owned by Koreans. So it was simply a little weird but the quality of the food was good. It just was not the right fit. But yeah good question...what is the right fit?

The difference is that the Mosaic District has a plan...Annandale does not. And if anyone chooses to argue otherwise, please explain how the Walgreens monstrosity fits into the "historic town center" concept fostered by the CoC for future development.
