  1. The Fairfax County Park Authority community information meeting about the proposed expansion at Wakefield Skatepark is tonight. in our announcement about the meeting from earlier this month.
  2. Today's temperature will reach a high of 80 degrees with plenty of sun.
  3. The Franconia District Station Citizen's Advisory Committee is hosting its annual picnic tonight at 6 p.m. It will be held in the Helen Wilson Community Room at , and the CAC will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. They will also be supplying drinks. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish but not required to. The station's traffic division will be setting up several interactive displays designed to provide a demonstration of the impairing effects of alcohol.
  4. There will be a community information meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Braddock Hall about the short-term and long-term upgrades to mitigate traffic along the Danbury Forest/Wakefield Chapel intersection. Annandale Patch will have details from the meeting on the site tomorrow.
  5. On this day in 1864 Robert E. Lee's home area of Arlington, VA became a military cemetery.
