Flood Watch In Effect Tonight Until Thursday

Rain is expected to begin later this evening

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Fairfax County, in effect and our area, from this evening through Thursday evening.

Throughout the evening, expect moderate to heavy rain up to close to three inches and a cold front that will continue into Thursday.

The forecasted rainfall amounts may cause flooding in low lying areas or cause streams and creeks to overflow. Annandale residents should avoid areas such as Woodburn Road and be cautious of standing water in the lanes of major roads such as Little River Turnpike and Columbia Pike. If you encounter standing water, try and avoid it if you can as the water may be deeper than you think.
