Wintry Mix Expected Tonight

Snow, sleet and rain in the forecast for this evening and tomorrow morning

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 10 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. Tuesday for the Washington, D.C. metro area.

The advisory is calling for snow, sleet and freezing rain with the rain having the most impact. Less than an inch of snow and sleet is expected and it will change from snow to rain shortly after midnight until around 2 a.m.

If driving this evening, drive cautiously as roads may be slippery in these conditions.

Tonight will see a mix of snow, ice and rain and reach an overnight low of 28 degrees with a 100 percent chance of precipitation.

Tuesday, Jan. 18

Rain from Monday evening will carry over into Tuesday. High temperature of around 40 to 42 degrees during the day with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. Showers are expected in the evening with a low temperature of 35 degrees.
