At 11 a.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2011, the Annandale American Legion Bicentennial Post 1976 will conduct a formal (20 - 30 min.) Veterans Day Ceremony at the Annandale Island Cannon (situated between s and ).
Our anticipated guest speaker this year will be Retired Admiral Jim Miller who will focus on the meaning of Veterans Day. For over 20 years, American Legion Post 1976 has conducted this patriotic and solemn community event which is open to the public - normally there are 45 - 50 attendees including many of our local politicians.
Many of the attendees adjourn to the Post Home at 4206 Daniels Avenue (one block's distance) for light refreshments and camaraderie after the ceremony.
