Conservation Practices for All Landscapes Workshop

Are you interested in learning about ways you can help conserve natural resources in your community? Check out this upcoming free workshop!

Are you interested in leaving a conservation legacy and protecting your land for future generations? Do you want to attract more birds or other beneficial wildlife to your property? Would you like to reduce runoff and erosion, while protecting our streams and the Chesapeake Bay? If so, join Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Audubon Society of Northern Virginia from 6:30 – 8:30pm on October 18th for a seminar on the programs and resources available to protect and enhance natural resources on your land. From urban lots to rural expanses, a variety of relevant topics will be covered including, protecting your land with a conservation agreement (easement), how to create or enhance backyard wildlife habitat, and ways to address stormwater issues through the use of rain barrels, rain gardens and other best management practices. This free workshop will be held in Conference Rooms 9 and 10 at the Fairfax County Government Center at 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035. Advanced registration is required. Support for this workshop is generously provided through Transurban and Fluor’s 495 Express Lanes Community Grant Program.
