39th Annual All-Heisey Antique Glass Show

  • Where: , Annandale
  • When: Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 18 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: The National Capital Heisey Collector’s Club is dedicated to the preservation and appreciation of Heisey glass.  The theme for this year’s show is Soda Fountain Memories.
  • Price:  Admission is $7

  • Nature Buddies – Spring Topics at Huntley Meadows Park, Alexandria.  Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m.  For ages 3-6.  $10 - $12 per person – Registration required.
  • Go Green: Shamrocks and Snakes at , Annandale.  Saturday, March 17 at 2 p.m.  For ages 3 and up.  $6 - $8 per person – Registration required.
  • Evening Walk at Huntley Meadows Park, Alexandria.  Saturday, March 17 at 6:30 p.m.  For adults.  $6 - $8 per person – Registration required.

Potomac Watershed Cleanup Day

  • Where: , Annandale; Hidden Pond Nature Center, Springfield; Huntley Meadows Park, Alexandria
  • When: Saturday, March 17 from 9 – 11:30 a.m.
  • Why Go: Make a difference by helping to tidy up our local waterways.  Please wear appropriate clothing, such as boots, work clothes, and gloves. 

Jane Austen’s English Country Garden

  • When: Sunday, March 18 at 1 p.m.
  • Why Go: Learn about the English gardens and landscapes that were the backdrop of Jane Austen’s popular novels.
  • Price:  Admission is $27 – Reservations required.

  • Where: Mount Vernon Unitarian Church, Alexandria
  • When: Friday, March 16 from 7 – 9 p.m.
  • Why Go: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with traditional music from Ireland and Scotland, sponsored by the Gaelic Society of America.
  • Price:  $12 per person or $25 per family

Capitol Steps Performance

  • Where: West Springfield High School, Springfield
  • When: Friday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Enjoy an evening of entertainment with this popular political satirist group.
