Obituary: Longtime Annandale Resident, World War II Veteran Dies

Wilson E. Petty, 94, died on Nov. 28.

Longtime Annandale resident and Army Veteran Wilson E. Petty passed away on Nov. 28 at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Petty, 94, was born Aug. 16, 1919 in Bristow, Va. He served in the Army during World War II. Petty worked at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria when the factory still created torpedoes, according to his obituary from the Demaine Funeral Home.

Petty, a longtime member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC), also enjoyed working on watches and clocks in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Petty, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
