Blue Jeans Inaugural Ball At NOVA, Annandale Campus

It was fun; it was informal, at least from the waist down, at the 2014 Blue Jeans Inaugural Ball last Friday, January 17th!  Guests were encouraged to attend the Democratic fundraiser wearing blue jeans with a fancy top or go black tie at this post inaugural celebration for newly sworn-in Governor Terry McAuliffe, Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam, and Attorney General Mark Herring.  The special guest of the evening, Lieutenant Governor. Ralph Northam, attended this local fundraising event at the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center at the Northern Virginia Community College at the Annandale campus.  A surprise speaker was Senator Mark Warner, the senior United States Senator from Virginia, providing high praise and strong support for Lieutenant Governor Northam and the entire Democratic team elected to the state government headquarters in Richmond.  Senator Warner was the 69th Governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006.

The 2014 Blue Jeans Inaugural Ball offered live music, dancing, a buffet and beverages, and a priceless opportunity to meet and greet with Lieutenant Governor Northam, Senator Mark Warner, Delegate Ken R. Plum (Democrat, 36th District of the Virginia House of Delegates, covering part of Fairfax County including all of Reston), Delegate Mark Keam  (Democrat, 35th District of the Virginia House of Delegates covering Fairfax County), Delegate Scott Surovell, (Democrat, 44th District of the Virginia House of Delegates representing the Mt. Vernon  region of Fairfax County), and other representatives from the Northern Virginia region.

The Blue Jeans Inaugural Ball was hosted by the Fairfax County Democrats and sponsored by Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam, FCDC (Fairfax County Democratic Committee) Chair Sue Langley, Delegate Scott Surovell and Saba Shami, president of the New Dominion Political Action Committee (NDPAC), the premier political voice for the Arab American community in Virginia.
