Fairfax County police found an Annandale man dead in his home in the Wilburdale community off of Backlick Road on Sunday night.

A neighbor reported seeing fire trucks, ambulances and heavy police presence around 9:30 p.m.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but Gotthardt said the man was struck by a car around Memorial Day and sustained injuries. It is unclear whether the man’s injuries from the Memorial Day accident contributed to his death.

The State Medical Examiner's office in Fairfax County is now in charge of the case, which police have determined is an “unattended death.”
