Annandale Man Pleads Guilty to Murder in Barbershop Shooting

Hung T. Nguyen, pleaded guilty this week to killing one coworker and wounding another in 2011.

An Annandale man pleaded guilty to first degree murder for killing a former co-worker and injuring another at a local barbershop two years ago, according to the Washington Post.

Hung T. Nguyen, 46, was charged with murder back in April 2011 for the fatal shooting of barber Le D. Hoang whom Nguyen worked with at the Belleview Barber Shop in Alexandria. 

Nguyen had argued with Hoang and a co-worker, who has not been identified, and snapped when one threw away food Nguyen had in a refrigerator at work, the Post states.

Nguyen quit the barbershop in December 2010 not long after the incident. He purchased a gun and told his family and friends about his plans to seek revenge. Nguyen returned to the barbershop under the pretense of signing tax documents and opened fire, shooting Hoang in the back and injuring his co-worker in the shin.  another unidentified co-worker in the shin.

Nguyen voluntarily turned himself into authorities on the day of the shooting. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 21 and faces up to life in prison.
