Nguyen had argued with Hoang and a co-worker, who has not been identified, and snapped when one threw away food Nguyen had in a refrigerator at work, the Post states.

Nguyen quit the barbershop in December 2010 not long after the incident. He purchased a gun and told his family and friends about his plans to seek revenge. Nguyen returned to the barbershop under the pretense of signing tax documents and opened fire, shooting Hoang in the back and injuring his co-worker in the shin.  another unidentified co-worker in the shin.

Nguyen voluntarily turned himself into authorities on the day of the shooting. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 21 and faces up to life in prison.
