Annandale Neighborhoods to Participate in National Night Out Tuesday

Fairfax County police officers will visit Annandale-area communities to meet and speak with residents.

Annandale residents, Fairfax County police and more will mingle at various community-organized events for National Night Out (NNO) 2013 Tuesday.

Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, the annual event encourages local police and fire departments to engage with residents in their community in an effort to take a stand against violence and crime.

Police officers from across Fairfax County, including the Mason, West Springfield and Franconia District Stations which serve Annandale, will meet with residents and discuss crime and other safety measures at neighborhood events.

The Auxiliary Police, the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police and McGruff, the Crime Dog will be stopping by some of the events.

Most of the NNO events last from 6-9 p.m., but will vary by community as much as the planned activities.
